Focus Group Objectives and How They Will Work

When we did the Beneficiary Engagement Consultation, almost 100 beneficiaries said they would be interested in occasionally taking part in a Beneficiary Focus Group, so the Trustees plan to arrange these (either in person or virtually) when there is a topic they want to understand from an individual beneficiary perspective or where there are specific groups of beneficiaries whose needs and experiences they want to understand (for example hearing impaired beneficiaries or beneficiaries who live alone).

These groups will have an expert facilitator and some Trustees and staff will attend as observers to listen to the views and experiences of beneficiaries.

If you have any suggestions for future Focus Group topics - that would enable Trustees to understand issues that are important to beneficiaries in more depth - then please let us know by emailing [email protected].

Upcoming Focus Group - April 2025

A Beneficiary Focus Group for beneficiaries whose hearing impairment affects communication with the Trust is being held in April 2025.

Once collated notes will be available here.

Focus Group July 2024

The Trustees heard from beneficiaries with a sight impairment that affects their daily living to understand the additional challenges they face. A summary is currently being collated to be shared with the Trustees and the Heath & Wellbeing Team and will continue to inform understanding within the Trust.

Focus Group January 2024

The first Beneficiary Focus group was held on January 24 2024, on the ‘hot topic’ of electric vehicles and the specific challenges faced by beneficiaries. Nine beneficiaries attended the session with a range of different experiences and current vehicles, both adapted and non-adapted, EV, hybrid and non-EV. The themes of the session are being collated and will inform the future work of the Trust.
