Last year Brian Gault received an email from the Home Office telling him that he had been awarded an MBE for services to thalidomide survivors in Brazil and children with disabilities throughout the world.

On the 30th November he received his MBE from Princess Anne on behalf of The Queen at a ceremony at Windsor Castle.

Brian said, "It would be fair to say that the whole ceremony with sixty-one other recipients of Honours was a truly humbling and a privileged occasion to be part of with The Countess of Wessex's String Orchestra playing softly in the background - Yes! A wonderful and memorable day."
