Thank you from the Trust

We would like to say a big ‘Thank you’ to all of our Beneficiary Volunteers and celebrate the work they do which ranges from signposting beneficiaries to assisting completion of a full PIP renewal form.

See some of the feedback our volunteers have received for their support

A beneficiary’s request for help from a volunteer can be small, such as finding out about a company that does specific blind fittings or can be a more long-term arrangement like befriending, perhaps during a period of change, like divorce, illness or bereavement.

Volunteering with us

Beneficiaries can apply to volunteer for roles at the Trust that are of particular interest to them and for which they have skills. If a beneficiary used to work assisting people claiming benefits, their skills can be hugely useful in assisting other beneficiaries claiming what they are entitled to.

Some beneficiaries are community makers, able to build rapport easily with others, interested in other people and what is going on in their lives and be empathetic to others’ experiences. It’s great to have them on board to create inclusive online groups, sharing experiences and tackling isolation.

Since early 2023 the Trust’s Volunteers have held a series of in-person informal coffee events.  These have been held in tea rooms, garden centres and a local pub enabling beneficiaries who live close together to be in contact.  If you would like to find out more about events in your local area or if you are interested in hosting an event, please get in contact with the Trust.

If you have skills that you would like to use to support the beneficiary community and would like to get involved in volunteering, please contact the Trust to find out what position could be suitable for you.

We look forward to hearing from you on 01480 474074.
