Lorraine Mercer is always an inspiration! She was one of seven drivers from the Heron’s Ghyll RDA group who competed in the Regional RDA Carriage Driving event at Bradbourne Riding and Training Centre in Sevenoaks, on 6th July 2022. And what an amazing day it was.

With two parts to the competition - a 'cones' round and a 'challenges' round. Everyone particularly enjoyed driving their carriages as fast as they could, whilst having to fish rubber ducks from a pond with a net, always concentrating on getting a good time for their round!

From the start of the day, Lorraine was in a competitive mood.  Driving 'Buttons', she was completely focused on what she had to do!  Her determination paid off. She achieved second place in the 'cones' round, and first in the 'Le Trec' obstacle round. Well done Lorraine!

Kay Jarvis, of Kindred Community Ltd who supported Lorraine at the event said: “It was a great pleasure to attend with Lorraine and watch her in action. The RDA staff and volunteers made sure the event was a great success, with everyone being so supportive of one another”.
