Dry January is a campaign run by Alcohol Change UK, in which participants give up alcohol for the whole month. Research published in 2018 has shown that just 31 days without alcohol will bring you many important benefits such as:

  • Improved sleep so you will feel brighter and more energised in the morning
  • Saving money
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Reduced risk of diabetes
  • Lower cholesterol levels
  • Reduced level of cancer-related proteins in the blood

Research has also shown that if you complete the dry January challenge you are more likely to be able to drink more healthily afterwards, making better decisions about the amount of alcohol you consume.

This will have huge long term health benefits as alcohol has been linked to more than 60 health conditions, such as liver disease, heart disease and a number of cancers.

Find out more about why you should try the Dry January challenge and how it will improve your health as well as your bank balance!
