Kate Barnard

Kate is a Chartered Physiotherapist (graduating from Bath School of Physiotherapy in 1991) and a Sports Massage Therapist (graduating from NLSSM in 2008).

She opened her practice in 2008 and hasn't looked back. It's grown through word of mouth, something she's very proud of. Her business and customers mean a great deal to her, and she attends regular training courses and conferences to improve her skills and keep up-to-date on the latest research.

Until very recently Kate was a Lead Tutor at NLSSM, part of a team teaching Sports Massage Therapy to BTEC Level 5. She has worked with principle Susan Findlay since graduating which has enhanced her skills as a therapist. Due to the success of her clinic and managing that important work-life balance she has stepped away from teaching for now.

Kate coordinated a therapy service for 14 national Paralympic teams that stayed in Bedford prior to the London 2012 games. In just three weeks, along with 40 volunteers, she treated around 90 athletes at the clinic. They treated paracyclists, power lifters, and track & field athletes, and enjoyed watching them go on to perform well at the Paralympic Games.

She has also travelled the world with the Great Britain Ladies Goalball squad between 2007 and 2010, culminating in European Championship gold in Munich.

And last but not least, Kate is a mum of three, a wife, and dog owner - and so understands just how difficult it is to get those exercises done - but will give you as much help as possible to get the very best from your body.
