Thalidomide scandal goes to Hollywood

Hollywood is planning to bring the story of The Sunday Times's role in exposing the thalidomide scandal of the 1970's to the  big screen.

Harvey and Bob Weinstein, whose past hits include Pulp Fiction and Shakespeare in Love, hope to turn the story into a major movie. The then editor Harold Evans led the newspaper’s campaign for the victims of the “wonder drug” that maimed an estimated 20,000 babies and killed 80,000.
