Birmingham Local Event

entrance to the Crowne Plaza NEC hotel

The Birmingham Local Event was held at the Crown Plaza Birmingham NEC Hotel on 27 June 2024.

Deborah Jack, Executive Director, provided an update on recent changes at the Trust and our future plans.  Katy Sagoe spoke about Holistic Needs Assessments (HNAs) and what they are telling us about beneficiaries as they age.  Dr Tim Fenn gave a presentation on understanding your risk of heart attack or stroke and how to reduce that risk. Trustees Professor Rosemary Varley and David Body attended and really enjoyed meeting and chatting to beneficiaries in a relaxed and informal setting.

There was lots of time for beneficiaries to chat with staff, Trustees and each other – and there was also an opportunity to try out the air glove (which makes giving blood easier) and the latest dressing-hook that has been produced specifically for beneficiaries.

The feedback from beneficiaries who attended the day was really positive.
